The Binomial Distribution

We introduced the binomial distribution by considering the case of an 80% free throw shooter.

The secret is thinking about (i) what is the probability of "a" made free throws followed by "n-a" missed free throws and (ii) how many ways are there to locate "a" free throws in "n" attemps.

This kind of thinking leads to a general formula, which is tabulated in the back of your textbook.
